Anti-Bullying
At Redlands Primary School, we all agree that no one should be bullied.
Everyone at Redlands has worked together so we all know what bullying is, how it can be stopped and what to do if someone is being bullied. We will respond quickly to any report of bullying.
What is bullying?
Bullying is deliberate and repeated actions that are unkind and hurtful. They can be verbal (saying unkind words), physical (hitting, kicking) and via the internet or text messaging. Bullying can be carried out by one person or a group of people.
Examples of bullying are:
- Kicking, hitting, punching or any use of violence
- Threatening others
- Calling names, teasing, making up stories about others
- Damaging someone else’s belongings
What should you do if you are being bullied or if you think someone else is being bullied?
The first thing you should do is tell someone who can help you. This could be a friend, parent or another adult either in or outside school. Help from outside school can also be found here.
If you don’t feel you can talk to someone about what is happening then why not write it down and pass it to an adult in school.
What will happen when you report bullying to an adult at school?
All staff, pupils and parents want Redlands to be a happy, caring place to be and any report of bullying will be taken very seriously. The adult will listen to all children involved to understand fully what is happening and ensure that all issues are resolved.
